Maple Syrup

There is nothing better than Pure Wisconsin Maple syrup on Pancakes along with berries from Wunberg Produce. I believe the best Maple Syrup comes from Maple trees that grow in our woods in Birnamwood, Wisconsin. North Central Wisconsin is home to some of the best maple trees in the world. These maple trees produce the sap that becomes All Natural Wunberg Maple Syrup. This process begins deep in the woods while bears are still hibernating in the crispness of the northern Wisconsin winter. The expedition begins to tap these trees with hoses and collection containers.

In this tranquil landscape mostly inhabited by native wildlife, the magic begins. As anticipation of Spring inches closer and the sun starts to shine brighter and longer each day and the nights still stay cold and crisp, the sap starts to move in the trees. It takes as much as 40 gallons of collected sap to make one gallon of Wunberg Maple Syrup.

Just like our berry bushes, the Maple trees grow best in certain soils. Wisconsin’s history is surrounded with facts about the high amount of glacial activity that existed in these lands centuries ago. These glaciers left behind acres of large rocks that scatter the countryside protecting these virgin forests from development and mineral rich soil that these trees grow along with a seemingly abundance of water in these rocky soils.

The minerals in the soil along with the water produce an ideal growing environment for our trees. The maple trees in turn create a mineral rich sap that becomes in my opinion the best Maple Syrup! You can purchase our syrup in our online store! You won’t be disappointed!
